Despite carrying the AdBlock name, they were standard VPN-only products with no filtering capability. Our new infrastructure changes this. By routing your traffic through VPN tunneling, the expected ad blocking functionality is now actually delivered. For the first time we're pleased to say "AdBlock VPN" lives up to its name. ## How many devices can I connect? You can sign into the VPN on up to 6 devices. Simply install the app on a device where you want to use it and sign in with the email you used to purchase. ## What type of encryption does the VPN use? AdBlock VPN uses 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-26). AES-26 is the global standard for data encryption. This allows your device to create an encrypted connection with our servers, which in turn forwards that encrypted data to the website servers. This means your device may be temporarily considered "excluded" from your local network while connected to your secure VPN tunnel. Because of the way a device connects to a VPN, you may not be able to connect to local network devices, such as your printer. This can also prevent local email clients like Outlook and Thunderbird from sending and receiving email. **Allow local access network (Windows and Android)** If you're on Windows or Android, you can resolve this without disconnecting from the VPN. Streaming providers want to keep their content in certain regions, and since they cannot always tell which country a VPN user is in while watching, the streaming provider may assume that the streaming is from abroad and block it. An incorrect browser setting like the wrong language or inactive tracking protection may also prevent the streaming site from working.
